v1.5.8

Smoother motion, instant settings, and trail lines

Aircraft glide more smoothly, settings changes apply instantly, plus new trail lines, thousands more airline names, and the dark map now in Replay too.

  • Aircraft glide smoothly between radio updates instead of jumping
  • Settings now apply instantly — no more display reload when you change something
  • New Trail Lines setting: off, 10, 30, 60 or 120 seconds, fading with age
  • Thousands more airline names recognized — and your past history upgrades automatically
  • The dark map is now available in Replay too, not just the Live view

What changed

Smoother aircraft motion

Aircraft now glide smoothly between radio updates instead of hopping from spot to spot. The display predicts motion between signals over a longer window and blends positions more gracefully, so the whole map feels alive and fluid.

A clearer Settings page — that applies instantly

The Settings page is reorganized into clearer sections and now shows your software version at a glance. Best of all, the changes you make take effect instantly — the display no longer reloads when you adjust a setting, so tuning your view feels immediate.

Trail lines

A new Trail Lines setting draws a fading line behind each aircraft so you can see where it’s been. Pick the length that suits you — off, 10, 30, 60, or 120 seconds — and trails now fade gracefully as they age.

Thousands more airline names

The display now recognizes far more airlines — thousands of carriers worldwide — so more of your contacts show a real airline name. Your existing history is upgraded automatically in the background after the update, so older flights fill in too.

The dark map now in Replay too

The Replay view now offers the same three map backgrounds as the Live view — the original map, a plain black, and the dark map. As a reminder, the dark map reduces the map’s brightness, so you’ll tend to see more distant aircraft than with the bright map — while a plain black background is still best if you want the very longest range.

Notes

When an update like this installs automatically, your display restarts briefly — about a minute — then it’s back on its own. Nothing for you to do; it all arrives over the air.
